Water Filtration Category
Water filtration is a water purification method that uses a water filter to remove impurities from your tap water.
A water filter is capable of lowering the contamination of your water by using a fine physical barrier to remove impurities from your tap water.
Water Filtration Methods
There are two main methods to filter your water, a whole house water filter or a point of use water filter.
Whole House Water Filtration
A whole house water filtration system is designed to provide you with clean filtered water for your entire house. This type of water filtration system is installed at your home’s main water point.
The water filter works to prevent contaminated water from entering your house.
Point Of Use Water Filtration
A point of use water filtration system is designed to provide you with clean water at a single tap.
These water filters are commonly installed under a kitchen sink to provide you with high-quality water right at your kitchens tap.
How Does Reverse Osmosis Work
Reverse osmosis is a water filtration method that uses a partially permeable membrane to remove ions, unwanted molecules and larger particles from drinking water. The result is that the solute is retained on the pressurized side of the membrane and the pure solvent is allowed to pass to the other side. For example, when pressure is applied to a volume of saltwater, the salt is left behind when the water passes to the other side of the membrane.
