Florida Water Analysis’s UV Water Sterilizer is designed to remove microorganisms that range from bacteria and viruses to algae and protozoa. The systems advanced UV technology is capable of disinfecting water faster than chlorine and without the use of retention tanks and harmful chemicals to treat your drinking water. The UV lamp emits powerful ultraviolet light to eradicate microbiological contamination. Water enters through the bottom part of the chamber and swirls around a high output, low-pressure mercury-vapor lamp thermally protected by a quartz sleeve. The UV light energy destroys the microorganism’s ability to reproduce.
What Is Ultraviolet Used For?
You may have heard about it being used in hospitals to fight off airborne disease. Some dentists use it to purify their tools. It has even found a place to help eradicate mold and mildew in your air conditioning system. Now you can have the same protection and peace of mind for your water supply.
What Does It Do For Your Water?
Ultraviolet kills anything that has nucleic acids, including pathogens that cause staph and strep infections, salmonella, hepatitis and the potentially deadly strain 0157:H7 E. coli. This type of UV has proven to be equally effective against protozoan organisms, such as giardia and cryptosporidium, which are resistant to chlorine treatment.
How Does It Work?
Once water enters the system, the UV light is emitted from the bulb, passing through the quartz sleeve. This destroys living organisms almost instantly. The sanitized water then travels into your home, without harsh chemicals.
